At its Unpacked 2017 event, Samsung launched its Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones. Powered by Android Nougat, the phone ditches most of its bezel and comes with Samsung’s own digital assistant Bixby. These new flagships by Samsung will be available for pre-order on March 30th.

At its special event, smartphone giant Samsung unveiled its latest flagship Samsung Galaxy S8. If I call it Samsung’s “most important smartphone”, I won’t be wrong.
As expected, Samsung Galaxy S8 comes in two versions — the standard 5.8-inch Galaxy S8 and 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+. Apart from almost a bezel-less display, Samsung has moved the home button beneath the display. The phone is curved around the left and right. Samsung’s calling it “infinity display”.
Galaxy S8 comes with Samsung’s own smart digital assistant Bixby. You can use its iris or fingerprint scanners to make payments and unlock your device. These phones are also dust and water resistant.
These premium smartphones are available for pre-order on March 30th. They’ll start shipping in the US on April 21st. The pricing hasn’t been revealed yet by Samsung but it’s going to cost a lot–there’s no doubt about that.

Ambode’s Michael Jackson syndrome

GOVERNOR Akinwunmi Ambode’s urban renewal policy is fundamentally flawed. For one, it strives to recast a Nigerian city in Parisian or Washingtonian mold. Secondly, it fails to realise that Lagos does not have to look like Paris, New York or Washington DC to be a beautiful, functional and livable city. A city is not just an agglomeration of buildings, streets and public spaces cobbled together by architectural, engineering and urban planning standards. A city captures, encapsulates and expresses the totality of a people’s way of life. Not surprisingly, Western European cities have a similar character, a character that is different from (for example) Asian cities.

You wake up, it’s dark and you’re lying in a pool. You don’t remember how you got here. You stand up, stretch your aching limbs, walk towards the exit and out into the brilliant sunshine. As your eyes adjust to the light, the world comes slowly into focus – and it is
