Former Google Engineer Has Started Creating An “AI God”

The above paragraph sounds like a pretty interesting profile for a techie. Well, hold your horses, things are going to get a lot more exciting.

Levandowski has founded a religious organization named Way of the Future. As per the state filings, its purpose is to “develop and promote the realization of a Godhead based on Artificial Intelligence.”
According to an in-depth Backchannel profile, Levandowski is the Way of the Future’s CEO and President. However, the organization is yet to submit filings with the IRS to qualify as a tax-exempt religious organization. Still, Levandowski appears to be building his own God that will encourage people to worship AI for the “betterment of society.”
It’s not hidden that in the past, technologists and scientists like Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking have warned us about the risks of AI. I’m pretty sure that they won’t be happy to know about the new AI God.
But, what about you? Are you going to worship an artificially intelligent bot-god created by Way of the Future? Don’t forget to share your views with us.
