Issa paraded himself sometimes as an Army officer and at other times as a senior in the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) thus defrauding people
He is currently explaining his alleged criminal activities to officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara state has paraded a man who had terrorised residents with the claim of being an Army officer.
The 48-year-old man simply named Issa allegedly used his position to defraud people of the state and was paraded with three other suspects including Muhammed, Zainab and Ajanaku (surnames withheld).
The Nigerian Tribune reports that Mr Ideba Pedro, the NSCDC commandant in the state, who paraded the suspects, said Muhammed and Zainab were arrested along Ose area of Ilorin, for human trafficking.
The third suspect, Ajanaku, was also arrested for allegedly kidnapping a young lady and locking her up in his private apartment.
The commandant Issa had deceived his victims, claiming that he was an army, immigration or Customs officer, in order to defraud them.
According to him, Issa defrauded many people from Moro, Edu, Kaiama and Patigi local government areas of the state.
The report said he was caught with fake Nigeria Navy appointment letters, fake NNPC confirmation letters, among others.
While calling for the support of the people of the state, Pedro said the NSCDC would continue to rid Kwara of criminal elements.
