He urged APC members to ignore rumours that can affect the party
The president applauded Buhari fosh showing true comradeship
President Muhammadu Buhari has assured that he has a very good relationship with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and dismissed rumour that they were at logger head.
In a statement via Garba Shehu who is the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Buhari described as unfounded and mischievous the reports that he had set out to destroy Tinubu.
Shehu said the president was highly embarrassed by such “suggestions” that he and Tinubu were now enemies and that Buhari was in regular contact with Tinubu before, during and after the Ondo gubernatorial election.
The president was impressed with Tinubu’s assurance not to work against the party in Ondo and he honoured his words.
According to Shehu, the claim that the president and some members of the All Progressives Congress were working to destroy Tinubu was baseless and untrue.
He described Tinubu “as a priceless political asset to the party whose immeasurable contributions to the development and progress of the ruling party are known to all.”
The spokesperson advised rumour mongers to “stop spreading the seeds of discord and animosity between the President and Tinubu or the party” and that the president is proud of the Jagaba and his pivotal role in the party and the movement.
The president also applauded Tinubu for congratulating Rotimi Akeredolu after emerging as the governor of Ondo which he described as true comradeship.
Buhari appealed to APC members to ignore rumour s that can affect the unity of the party as his administration was focused on governance.
