Economic Recession: CAN declares 3 days fasting, prayers for Nigeria

Bothered by the biting economic recession cycle in the country, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has declared a three-day fasting and prayers for the country.
The fasting and prayer is being held between September 21 and 23, 2016.

A statement by Pastor Adebayo Oladeji, Special Assistant on Media to the CAN President, Rev. Samson Olasupo Ayokunle enjoined all Christians to key into the programme to seek the face of God in the recession being experienced by the nation.
“As we are getting ready for the 56th Independence Anniversary, the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has declared September 21-23, 2016 as days of fasting and prayers for the nation and His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari with his team.
“We call on all christians nationwide to seek the face of God for divine intervention as our political leaders are seeking for panacea to the economic recession and the attendant problems.”
The statement stated that the programme is anchored on the Holy Bible passage which says, “If my peo-ple, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV).”
