Fox-movie app
What if you’re bored and you find a new movie on your phone. But wait, you didn’t download it. Fox Studios did. That’s their new plan to put movies on users’ phones, by downloading them in the background and don’t even charge them for the data. The downloads aren’t completely free; users would have to pay to watch the movies.

At the MWC, 21st Century Fox new movie pushing plan is a step further in the quest to put movies closer to the viewers. Their approach includes auto-download of movies on users’ device in the background. The user would still have to pay to buy or watch the downloaded Full HD movies.
According to Fox Studios, the user’s would have a control over the downloads. They would take the users’ preferences into consideration rather than downloading any random flick. Also, it won’t cost users a penny for the movie download, as it would be tagged as zero-rated data by the participating mobile carriers.
A month-long pilot program involving a test-app has been announced by Fox, Ericson, and the Australian carrier Telstra. Currently, the employees of Ericson and Fox and customers on Telstra’s network would be a part of the pilot program. The users would be given a Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone preloaded with movies. The program currently has eleven films including famous titles like Deadpool, The Martian, The Revenant, etc.
Later in time, when the program would go public, all the downloads would run in the background. It might free the people from the hassle of finding and downloading movies but it would consume free space on their devices.
