If you ever felt so, trust me you’re not alone. Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates thinks the same and he’s sorry as well. He did so at Bloomberg Global Business Forum.
Gates has expressed similar sentiments in 2013 as well. Back then, during a question and answer session at Harvard University, Gates blamed IBM for this atrocity. “We could have had a single button. But the guy who did the IBM keyboard design didn’t want to give us our single button,” Gates said.
He said that as the IBM hardware PC only had one way to get a guaranteed interrupt, the makers should’ve put another key for this task.
At Bloomberg Global Business Forum, Gates added that if he could go back in time and change the small things without putting other things at risk, he would definitely create a new single key operation.
