Google Has Decided To Do Away With Instant Search Completely

Until now, Google search behaved differently on mobile and desktop devices. While on the mobile, one had to type the query and tap on the search button, on the desktop the result instantly appeared as soon as you started typing. This difference was due to Google Instant,
which was launched in 2010.
But, with passing time, the majority of search volume is shifting towards mobile; this number is currently 50%. So, to establish a uniformity, Google has decided to do away with Instant Search completely. It should be noted that the desktop users had found ways to turn-off Instant Search feature in the past.
According to Search Engine Land, since 2010 the search inputs, interactions, and screen constraints have become different. “With this in mind, we have decided to remove Google Instant, so we can focus on ways to make Search even faster and more fluid on all devices,” according to Google.
Now, as you type, you’ll only see search suggestions. You can click on any of those suggestions to jump to the search engine result page. So, without clicking Enter or any suggestion, the results won’t be shown.
