iMessage is getting a Venmo and Google Wallet-like payment feature for sending money to friends. Beginning with iOS 11, you'll be able to send money to other
iMessage users. You can also request money from others with ease.
The feature will even activate automatically based on the contents of a message thread, such as when someone says "you owe me $10."
iMessage apps from Venmo and others already let people send money to friends through the messaging service. But the default integration of payments from Apple Pay and iMessage could be more widely used.
When you receive money, the balance goes on a virtual card in Apple Pay. You can use the money anywhere Apple Pay is accepted.
