South Korea Working On A "City" For Autonomous Vehicle Testing

South Korea's government is developing a large city-like facility that'll be dedicated to autonomous vehicle testing. The K-City is an 88-acre urban complex that'll open in October. It's meant to closely replicate city conditions, so it includes bus lanes, expressways, and parking areas.

K-City is much larger than the University of Michigan's 32-acre MCity facility. It'll be the largest autonomous vehicle testing center of its kind.
Companies like Hyundai, Kia, and even Samsung may use the city replica. K-City gives companies a way to test their technology without the same kind of permits required for public road trials.
