At the recent Build conference, Microsoft announced a new Fluent Design System that was previously known as Project Neon. During the announcement, the company never mentioned anything about bringing it to phones, but according to a new report, it will.
However, there is a catch as some features won't be available on smartphones, such as the blurred background. The update could bring an important design overhaul for Windows phones as well, but it is still too early to tell if Microsoft is still working on the Windows 10 Mobile platform or it has dropped its plans for it.
The Fluent Design System will be finalized before the launch of Windows 10 Redstone 3 in September, but the Redstone 3 update probably won't arrive to phones. Instead Microsoft will release an update codenamed feature2 that will bring a few small tweaks and bug fixes.
