Latest Netflix For Android App Doesn't Run On Rooted Devices

Rooted Android phones and tablets won't be able to use the latest version of Netflix. The app now comes with an updated DRM system that fully relies on Google's Widevine DRM. As a result, it typically won't run on a device that's been rooted.

With our latest 5.0 release, we now fully rely on the Widevine DRM provided by Google; therefore, many devices that are not Google-certified or have been altered will no longer work with our latest app and those users will no longer see the Netflix app in the Play Store.- Netflix

Widevine offers content protection video delivery services and it considers rooted devices to not be very secure, thereby infringing on the protection.
