GIMP 2.8.22 Release Fixes 10 Year Old Bug, Now Available For Download

GIMP 2.8.22 Released
The GIMP development team has bumped up the version number for their open source image editor GIMP (or GNU Image Manipulation Program). GIMP 2.8.22 release is focused on fixing bugs in GIMP versions for different platforms.
One of the noteworthy fixes is a 10-year old bug (CVE-2007-3126). First spotted in GIMP 2.3, it resulted in the crash of the ICO file input plug-in due to specially crafted images. The team said that the effect of the bug had reduced in the last few years and they were unable to replicate the bug in GIMP 2.8. Now it is gone for good, officially.
GIMP 2.8.22 also improves painting performance for certain GTK+ themes. Other fixes include crashes in MacOS during drag & drop and copy/paste operations. Crashes related the color picker option in GIMP for Windows have also been fixed.
