Amazon's Underground program, which has given people free Android apps and in-app purchases since 2015, is coming to a close.
The company says it's beginning to shut down the service and it will fully end
support for Underground in 2019.
For the time being, users can still download the Underground app on Android. Underground primarily highlights lesser-known apps.
Amazon didn't fully explain why it's getting rid of the program, though it said it's developed "new monetization opportunities for developers" in the past couple years.
People with a non-Amazon Android device can only access Underground's free app store until this summer.
No more apps will be admitted to the store after May 31.
