Reddit Transforms Into a Social Network But It Has Only ‘Three Users’

Reddit User Profiles 1
Reddit is working on social network-styled user profiles allowing Redditors to post content in their name and follow other profiles. Reddit’s co-founder Alexis Ohanian, Shitty_Watercolour, and Riot Games are the three users who have been given a profile each for the alpha testing. User profiles will roll out to all the users in the coming months.

The famous social news aggregation platform Reddit announced on Tuesday that the website will be launching user profiles. As reported by Reuters, the user profiles would allow people to post content through their individual pages and also follow other people’s profiles pages. The is similar to what we have seen in the case of other social media platforms like Facebook and Twiter.
Since its launch in 2005, Reddit has been a community-driven platform which revolves around forums or subreddits for different topics. But one thing has been a real pain for the users, promoting their own content due to the restrictions implemented on Reddit. It’s hard for the content creators to post their content themselves. Alex Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, has acknowledged this thing.
Reddit’s announcement post says that the “feature is for all users but we’re starting with a small group of alpha testers”. As of now, only three high-profile Redditors have been given a chance to be the part of the alpha testing. Alexis Ohanian is one of the three people to exist on Reddit’s social network. Here is the snapshot of his profile.
