To do business in China, almost a year ago, Microsoft officials said that they were developing a Windows 10 version in partnership with China Electronics Technology Group Corp. (CETC).
Approved by the Chinese government, this version is rumored to remove some consumer applications and features. According to a report by China Daily, this first version of China-centric Windows 10 edition is now in a good position to serve the local governments and offices.
“We have worked extensively to make it secure and controllable. We are now ready to serve the market,” he added. In an interview with China Daily, Alain Crozier, CEO of Microsoft Greater China, said that the first version has been tested by three large enterprise customers.
It should be noted that this version is specially targeted at government and enterprise users with critical needs. On the contrary, Windows 10 is already available to consumers and non-government businesses.
To improve its position in China, Microsoft has partnered with many companies, including deals with Lenovo, Baidu, Xiaomi, and Tencent. With this latest move, Microsoft aims to boost Windows 10 adoption even further.
