Former Celtic player and manager Tommy Gemmell has passed away at the age of 73. Events which led to his death could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
During his time, Gemmell was crucial for his side when he netted one of the goals to help the Scottish giants to win the European Cup in 1967.

In that game, Celtic were trailing Italian giants Inter Milan 1 – 0 before Gemmell leveled-up in a spectacular fashion to help set up the famous victory in Lisbon.
The squad has gone down the history books Lisbon Lions and club supporters will never forget what they achieved that year,
"Tommy Gemmell is a true Celtic legend, part of the greatest side in the club’s history and a man who played a pivotal role in our greatest ever triumph when, in Lisbon’s Estadio Nacional, 11 men all born within a 30-mile radius of Celtic Park, beat Inter Milan to win the European Cup," the club said in a statement.
"The legend of the Lisbon Lions was created that night, and Tommy and his team-mates were assured their place in the pantheon of Celtic greats.
"And, like the rest of the Lions, Tommy remained humble about his incredible football achievements.
"The whole Celtic Family is mourning his passing, and everyone associated with the club sends their thoughts and prayers to his family, his fellow Lions and his many friends at this desperately sad time.
Although he is a predominant right-footer, Gemmell made his mark at left-back for Celtic. He joined the club at the age of 18 and spent ten years there.
Out of curiosity, he left the club in 1971 with the hope of playing for Nottingham Forest. He later returned to Scotland where he ended his career with Dundee United.
