Zorin OS 12.1 Point Release With Linux Kernel 4.8 Is Now Available For Download

Zorin OS 12.1 Released
Zorin OS 12.1 point release has been announced by the popular Linux distro’s development team. The new update features an improved X Server, Linux kernel 4.8, and updated HWE stack. Other than various security fixes, the Zorin OS 12.1 also includes various visual changes and updated versions of software packages.

Building upon the last major upgrade, the Zorin Group has pushed the first point release, Zorin OS 12.1, of the Ubuntu-based Linux distribution.
Zorin OS 12.1 flaunts the same Zorin Desktop 2.0 (a fork of GNOME) we have seen in the case of Zorin OS 12. Other than major bug fixes and security patches, Zorin OS 12.1 comes with various under-the-hood updates. Just like its daddy Ubuntu 16.04.2, Zorin 12.1 also includes the Linux kernel 4.8 with an updated HWE stack and X server for improved hardware compatibility.

The Zorin Group sells the open-source OS as a Linux-based replacement for Microsoft Windows. Surely, they would have to include all the features to stand in front of Windows. Visual improvements include an ‘Add to Desktop’ option in the Zorin menu. To add an app to the desktop, a user can choose the option from its context menu.
