Protesting women tells EFCC to unfreeze Patience account

PORT HARCOURT – Protesting women Thursday in Port Harcourt enjoined the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to unfreeze the accounts of Mrs Patience Jonathan, saying she needed the money to attend to her failing health.

The women who were decked in black attire assembled at the premises of the anti graft agency in old GRA, Port Harcourt brandishing placards with various inscriptions condemning the action of the agency.

The women who came under the aegis of Voice of Niger Delta Women, VONDW wondered why the anti graft agency would allegedly be unleashed on the family of former President Goodluck Jonathan when he was not the only one that had served the country in that capacity.,
One of them, Chief Rita Onwunali who spoke said they were not against anti graft war but it should be done within the orbit of the law.
She said it was not proper for the anti graft agency to unleash itself on the family of former President Jonathan over mere allegations.
She said the commission should unfreeze the account of wife of the former President so she could give herself the needed medical attention, adding that the money was for her medicare.

A city captures, encapsulates and expresses the totality of a people’s way of life. Not surprisingly, Western European cities have a similar character, a character that is different from (for example) Asian cities.
