Taliban Executes 6 Security Men By Hanging In Afghanistan

Six security personnel were reportedly executed by hanging by the Taliban in Afghanistan’s remote south-western Farah province, police said on Wednesday.

The men, comprising three Afghan soldiers, two policemen and one civilian, were hanged in the Joma Bazar area on Monday at around 4:00pm, said Farah Police Security Chief Mohammad Ghaws Maliar.
According to Maliar, the six men, who were
dragged out of a bus in the Bala Boluk district, while on their way to Farah about a month ago, were executed publicly.
Speaking on the incident, Taliban Spokesman, Zabihaullah Mujahid, neither confirmed nor rejected the report.
It was gathered that the men were sentenced to death for allegedly collaborating with the government in a Taliban desert court session.
The Head of Operations for Farah Police, Mohammad Qol’Alamyar, revealed that the Taliban had recently stepped up abductions and killings of Afghan security forces in order to undermine the morale of the government and its forces.
Quite a number of people including members of the country’s Army and Police have been taken hostage in highways by Taliban and number of them gun down in the past three months.
