IN a move aimed at dousing tension in the party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ondo State has shifted its governorship primaries till Wednesday next week.
The election was slated for this Saturday before its postponement.
we gathered that Army authorities turned down the
request of the party to hold the election in the military barracks.Also, the primaries would now hold at the Democracy Park.
The state secretary of the party, Rotimi Rahman confirmed the shifting of the primaries to Wednesday next week when contacted last night.
Delegates go into hiding
In a similar vein, it was gathered that the delegates expected to elect the party’s standard bearer have gone into hiding to avoid been camped by aspirants going about with cash to buy them over.

3,000 delegates across the 18 council areas of the state would choose a candidate out of 25 aspirants participating in the primaries.
It was gathered that one of the aspirants had allegedly moved delegates from at least 13 of the 18 councils in the state out of the state capital.
however, the move was aimed at avoiding “undue influence by loyalists of some of the aspirants shopping for delegates to buy.”
It was further gathered that ahead of the primaries, some aspirants have recruited lobbyists to shop for delegates across the council areas who swear to an oath once they have gotten commitment from any of the delegates.

Meanwhile, one of the aspirants vying for the APC governorship ticket, Moyosola Niran-Olaunni, has promised to reunite warring factions within the party if elected.

Niran-Oladunni gave the assurance while addressing a group of concerned professionals and youths in separate meetings in Ose Local Government Area, Ondo.
He noted that if elected, he would bring together all factions before the November governorship election in the state.
